CGI Construction in San Bruno, CA

CGI cabinet and countertop work in San Bruno almost always lands on a remodel, a hillside addition, or a Crestmoor-zone rebuild, not a fresh tract-home install. We handle full CGI kitchen scopes across the 94066 ZIP, from cabinet boxes and quartz tops to the rough-in corrections these older Peninsula houses keep hidden behind the walls. If you’re pricing a CGI kitchen in San Bruno, call (877) 373-9230 and we’ll walk the space with you before you order a single door.

We’re Garden Grove Contractors, and we’re an independent CGI service in Millbrae and throughout the Peninsula. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or sponsored by CGI. We spec and fit their cabinetry and countertops on the merits, because we’ve seen how these boxes and panels behave in a fog-cooled, hillside San Bruno house over years of installs. Noel Cardenas owns the company, and he’ll tell you the same thing he tells every client on the Peninsula: the material you pick today is the problem you solve, or the one you live with, ten years from now.

Why San Bruno Residents Choose Us for CGI Service

San Bruno is a built-out Peninsula suburb. Nearly every CGI project here is a remodel, an addition, or a rebuild, and that means we’re working inside walls that were framed in the 1940s, 1950s, or 1960s, not a clean modern shell. We’ve installed CGI cabinetry in Crestmoor ranches, west-side hillside homes with sloped floors, and post-2011 rebuilds that sit next to untouched originals. That local history changes how we order, level, and finish every run.

We use CGI OEM doors, drawer fronts, hinges, and touch-up finish when we’re matching an existing run. Where aftermarket glides and levelers outperform the original hardware, we use those instead. No one on our crew is guessing at CGI part compatibility. We know which boxes take which hinge plate, which overlay styles exist in the RTA line, and how the semi-custom plywood boxes differ in depth from the budget particleboard lines. That matters on a San Bruno job where the wall behind the cabinet is rarely square.

Noel grew up in Garden Grove, came up through the vocational trades program at Santiago Canyon College, and spent years working every phase of residential builds before running his own full-scope operation. The one-contractor, one-contract model he built means you’re not juggling a cabinet installer who blames the countertop fabricator who blames the electrician. From the countertop to the roofline, we own the whole scope as your San Bruno General Contractor.

Common CGI Construction Problems We Solve in San Bruno

  • Swollen door fronts near sinks and exterior walls. San Bruno’s marine layer keeps kitchens damp several months a year. Lower-cost CGI box lines use MDF and particleboard door fronts, and those panels cup and delaminate when fog-season moisture sits on them, while the plywood carcass usually survives. We repair carcasses and replace only the failed fronts when the structure is sound, panel by panel.
  • Racked cabinet boxes on hillside lots. West-side San Bruno homes settle and deflect over decades. Floor slopes of three-quarters of an inch to an inch across a sink wall are common up the hills. CGI boxes rack out of square on those slopes, throws off door reveals, and binds drawer glides. We level and shim the run before the first box is set.
  • Finish-batch mismatches in Crestmoor rebuilds. The 2010 PG&E pipeline explosion forced a pocket of roughly 1960s homes to be rebuilt to modern code at once. A CGI kitchen installed during a rebuild can sit next to an original 1960s run on one side and a post-2011 rebuild on the other. When we match new doors to surviving boxes, dye-lot and finish-batch shifts between purchase years show up as visible color drift. We verify batch and order matched against the original, not the showroom sample.
  • Hinge-side outlets and supply stubs interfering with box depth. Original 1940s to 1960s San Bruno kitchens often have undersized or unpermitted electrical and plumbing behind the cabinet line. We routinely find outlets landing exactly where a CGI box wants to seat, or supply stubs too tall for the sink base. We correct those before the cabinets go in, not after.
  • Water damage at the box joints. Fog-damp air plus old plumbing makes slow leaks common in San Bruno. By the time we open a wall, water has often wicked into the lower box joints where the face frame meets the plywood. If panel swelling has reached the joints, we recommend full replacement. If the carcass is dry and tight, we repair and reinstall.

CGI Service in San Bruno: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Project

The 2010 PG&E pipeline explosion in Crestmoor did something no other San Bruno neighborhood has: it put a block of roughly 1960s homes through a simultaneous rebuild to modern code. Walk a CGI cabinet or countertop job there today, and the house next door can be a 1963 original on one side and a 2012 rebuild on the other. For us, that means we verify each address’s actual construction year and drawing set before ordering. Adjacent houses differ by decades in wall framing, floor height, and rough-in locations. A cabinet run spec’d for a post-2011 rebuild will not drop into a 1960s original next door without leveling, shimming, and often electrical relocation. We’ve done enough Crestmoor work to know the difference before the boxes arrive.

On a Crestmoor block off the flat below the hills, we pulled a measured run on a 1960s ranch kitchen and found the CGI shaker boxes would not sit flush. The original floor sloped nearly an inch across the sink wall, and a prior owner had furred out the drywall in a way that threw the wall faces out of plane. We leveled and shimmed a new plywood sub-run, corrected an outlet that landed inside the cabinet depth, and set the CGI boxes and a quartz top so doors and drawers tracked clean. Then we matched a fresh door order against the surviving uppers using the original finish batch. Without that leveling step, the doors would have hung crooked and the drawer glides would have bound within a year.

CGI Models & Products We Service in San Bruno

We work across the CGI lines that actually show up in San Bruno kitchens. That includes the Ready-to-Assemble all-plywood shaker and flat-slab cabinet lines, the semi-custom overlay boxes with plywood sides and dovetail drawer boxes, the CGI quartz and granite countertop programs offered through dealer showrooms, and the CGI vanity and bath cabinet lines paired with aftermarket tops. For matching work, we order OEM doors and drawer fronts against the original finish batch. For repairs, we stock common hinge plates, touch-up finish, and levelers locally so CGI repair in Pacifica and San Bruno turnaround doesn’t wait on a parts shipment unless the run is rare.

We are not a CGI dealer and we don’t pretend to be. We’re an independent contractor who specifies and fits their products when they’re the right call for the house and the budget.

CGI Service Pricing in San Bruno

CGI cabinet and countertop pricing in San Bruno tracks the scope, not the ZIP code, but hillside leveling and older-wall corrections push some jobs toward the upper end of every range. Here’s what we quote for San Bruno kitchens:

Scope Typical Range
Cabinet Installation $4,000 – $13,000
Countertop Installation $2,000 – $6,500
Backsplash Installation $800 – $2,500
Full Kitchen Remodel $14,000 – $45,000
Small Kitchen Remodel $9,000 – $20,000
Kitchen Island Installation $3,000 – $10,000

A written estimate covers the CGI boxes, the door and drawer match strategy, countertop templating, any sub-run leveling, and rough-in corrections where we find them. If your San Bruno kitchen needs floor leveling, outlet relocation, or drywall work before the cabinets seat, the quote reflects that before we start, not as a change order mid-job. Call (877) 373-9230 for a free estimate and we’ll tell you exactly where your job lands.
